Environment of Servlet or Tomcat (not Eclipse)

Mar 19, 2009 at 3:51 PM

I need to run in a tomcat or plain servlet environment (NOT Eclipse).  I can live
with or without the Wicket.

Any Suggestions?

Any low level (request/response) examples out there?

Thanks

The build produces a war that should run in a servlet container.  Once you have built the project, you can run the war within Jetty or Tomcat from the command line.

> mvn jetty:run

Or

> mvn tomcat:run

The instructions for building and running are here:  Getting Started

The UI sample which runs in java 1.5 and higher is built on Wicket.  The UI sample which runs in java 1.4.2 is built on servlets and JSP.  You can look at either project for ideas.

Will the servlets and JSP work on Java 1.5?  I have compiled them.

The servlet and JSP sample is built against the 1.4.2 sdk.  Bascially, the functionality of the 1.4.2 sdk is same with some generics removed.  Yes, it will run in a container with 1.5.
